Every time I've listened to Thom Yorke's The Eraser (the album) I've thought about how well a lot of those tracks could work with a monome. Here's what I've accomplished so far with the title track: http://www.vimeo.com/1854975
All the samples were created in Reason/Ableton and I've posted all the files necessary to reproduce it here: http://www.makingthenoise.com/software.html
I challenge anyone with a vocal range like Thom Yorke's to perform this with the vocals :) -

speaking of reconstructing radiohead songs... they released a pack of samples, and asks for their fans help to remix reckoner from the 'new' album in rainbows. http://www.radioheadremix.com/

awesome work mtn, i've had exactly the same thoughts about the eraser and it is a stunning album
i've got the reckoner samples to start playing with too, but a flat move has put the brakes on playing with that for a while. -

Seems like this would be a great monomic exercise. And it would thrill my soon-to-be-four-year-old. He runs around singing Atoms for Peace all the time...the boy makes me proud!
And great work! -

For the record, I did not alert CDM or contact them in any way. They must monitor my blog. -

Actually, I can't remember how I stumbled on this, but yes, I do indeed read your blog!
[[ cdm, monitoring your digital music movement... ]]
;)
Oh, and just for the record, you know that "us" is generally just "me," particularly on the music site? Although I do like the idea of a giant newsroom of people, watching music tech forums and shouting.

i love the idea that peter kirn is like the newspaper boss guy in spiderman, with an army of interns clamouring for his attention:
intern - "sir, itouch midi is in the iphone appstore! there's been an update to glitch ds! check out this project to remix the eraser on the monome!"
pk - "crap, crap, crap, i'll give 200 bucks for the lot. now get out of sight before i slip into a diabetic coma." -

Peter - sorry, I was just afraid people might get the idea I was spoon-feeding CDM 'monome virtuoso' blog copy. I don't want to sound ungrateful, but a large number of people here do great things and it felt kinda weird being singled out, especially in the context of an app I had nothing to do with other than post on my site. -
