Monome Community Remix Project v1.0

Fellow beat heads, button pushers, and square waves:
I'd like to initiate a project called the Monome Community Remix Project. I'd like to get any number of people, hopefully between 16 and 32, to independently collaborate on remixes using a pool of community uploaded samples.

Heres how it works:
1. each person involved uploads 1 audio file (aif, wav preferably) under 30 seconds long, original or sampled, to http://www.seriouslyinteractive.com

2. You must sign up and upload a sample by 11:59pm on Friday the 13th, 2009. Once sign up is closed I will email a .zip file containing all the samples for use!

3. With zip file downloaded, GET NICE! each person has 2 weeks from Friday the 13th to create a song, remix, production (whatever u want to call it) using ONLY the samples in the pool, EXCLUDING the one you shared. (this prevents pre-meditated production and forces you to create something new)
2b. I will make a .zip file available on seriouslyinteractive.com for everyone on Friday the 13th.

4. songs should utilize the monome, and the application of your choice. This is a loose rule, and its on your honor. Can you simply launch a sample from Abelton? yes. but it'd be nice if you could implement the monome on at least some of the tracks.
3b. I propose that effects can be added to the samples as you choose, as long as you only use the samples from the pool.

5. I don't think a video is necesary, but it would be nice. Video or not, a Mp3 of the final product needs to be emailed to me, or submitted via seriouslyinteractive dot c0m.

6. A compilation will be made with all the submissions and available for download, or streaming directly from seriouslyinteractive.com

Deadline for "joining" will be next Friday the 13th (aww shit)
then the "due date" will be Friday the 27th.

I'm pretty sure something like this has been done before, but I'd like to try it. Thanks and I hope you guys are interested. This is just for fun, so everyone is encouraged to participate. I would like to do one of these once a month!

With no month or year listed in the instructions, I hope that doesn't confuse anyone into thinking it's over.

The instructions do say 2009. Funny I was blind to that but the copyright one jumped out at me.

I'm with JP. I'd be more likely to do this project if it were explicitly CC-NC-BY.

yea guys, this is going to be awesome. I removed all that copyright stuff. really hope that didnt turn people off from participating. this is just for fun, so dont take it too seriously. despite the domain name lol. (which by the way i just had sitting around so i thought id use it to host the signup form.)

@dovemouse .... it can be whatever man... maybe a simple 3 chord progression you like, or a car driving by on the highway. I think peoples unique use and processing will bring out the magic.
